Divine Advertising utilized viral communication as a means of advertising the beauty pageant it organised with HottestOnThisIsland.com, a website popular with young people and linked to well known social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Radio adverts as well as flyers (see above) circulated in places where young people frequent, such as cafes, helped to get more than 10,000 visits all in just the first week. The beauty pageant for young men and women had created a stir within the target group’s community with a vast amount of hits and a successful event turnout proving that viral advertising is an effective means of promotion provided that the cause is of relevance and interest.
